We are delighted to offer the latest releases from Alheit Vineyards. Alheit Vineyards is a family business started in 2010 by husband and wife team Chris and Suzaan Alheit.
Their goals are simple. They strive to make wines with a clear sense of Cape identity, celebrating the Cape’s vinous heritage, protecting and nurturing bush vines from old dry-farmed vineyards. They believe that quality and beauty in wine come from the vineyard alone. To that end, they practice simple and careful winemaking: no yeasts, no enzymes, no acidification, no sulphur before fermentation, no new barrels, no fining etc. In essence, no manipulation.
The 2025 vintage sees a full complement of cuvées produced. The blend and vineyard source for the 2025 vintage of Cartology remains constant with 90% Chenin blended with 10% Semillon.
Hereafter Here is from parcels of younger vine Chenin, sourced from various sites around the Cape, including from the Swartland owned farm.
Nautical Dawn is sourced from an old Chenin vintage within sight of False Bay.
Hemelrand Vine Garden is a field blend of Roussanne, Chenin, Chardonnay, Verdelho and Muscat grown directly behind the cellar on the Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge. My best interpretation is this is where Alsace meets the Rhône. After nearly 20 years in the ground now, these vines are now coming of age and certainly complimentary to the rest of the single vineyard range.
Both Magnetic North and Huilkrans are from single sites in the Skurfberg.
Monument is old-vine Semillon sourced from a single slope on the Robertsvlei Road in Franschhoek.
Fire By Night is from the Nuwedam farm purchased by Chris and Suzaan in 2019.
