Navarra sits just northeast of Rioja, sharing a border and, to some extent, a grape palette, though it's carved out its own identity — historically as a source of some of Spain's best rosado, made from Garnacha. In recent decades producers have diversified into Bordeaux varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot alongside traditional Tempranillo and Garnacha, giving Navarra a broader stylistic range than its more famous neighbour.
