Palacio Quemado 'La Zarcita'
This is from the Alvear Winery famed for their Montilla wines. Palacio Quemado is their winery in Extremadura.A delicious, exuberantly fruity wine, La Zarcita is a blend of Trincadeira Preta, Touriga Nacional and Garnacha Tintorera from vines planted in 2003 on clay and limestone soils. It fermented in stainless steel vats with indigenous yeasts followed by 8 months aging partly in French oak and concrete tanks . The oak is well integrated and neatly folded into the fruit, with notes of ripe fruit in the foreground, black rather than red. Juicy and vibrant and perfect with a spicy paprika influenced Spanish casserole. Serve cellar cool.
