This is a deep yet pretty Cinsault being generous of fruit yet full of life. The nose has an immediate perfume appeal of fresh damsons and plum sauce which are reflected on the palate and marry with texture, freshness and finesse. From 35-40 year old, unirrigated vines in Paarl, with 5% Cabernet Franc, this old vine red is remarkably light on its feet and says so much about why we have championed Cinsault from SA for several years. Lovely served cellar cool, great with Asian duck dishes and anything influenced by soy/hoisin sauce. Good with charcuterie too.
