Emile Balland 'Le Balbuzard' Sauvignon Blanc
The name "Le Balbuzard" refers to the fish-eating bird of prey which calls the Loire River its home. Attractive, fresh Sauvignon. Quite floral with grapefruit and herbaceous notes, some riper citrus too. Crisp and fresh on the palate, again grapefruit but leading to some peachy notes and subtle herbaceous characters. Refreshing style, not too overt making it an attractive aperitif and food wine, definitely more restrained than its similarly priced new world counterparts.
