Cuilleron Syrah 'Les Vignes d'a Coté' IGP

Ripe red and black berry fruits on the nose with spice and a touch of dried herb and smoked meat, a lick of oak makes this a very attractive drink. Bright, juicy red and black fruits with a hint of spice, dried herbs and pepper, appealing with sweet fruit and crunchy tannins and a whisper of oak. I wish more Crozes Hermitage and other Northern Rhone wines tasted like this ! Having just finished my WSET level 2, Rhone captured my imagination with its vast sloped vineyards and traditional methods. This is a brilliant entry into syrahs from that neck of the woods; savoury and black peppery, but with nice black cherry fruit that makes it very drinkable. JY
