Cave Vinicole De Hunawihr Rosacker
Among the 13 Rieslings I tasted after fighting my way along the Pinot table there was one standout bargain: the 2018 Rosacker from the co-op in Hunawihr, the village above which this grand cru vineyard is located, just south of Ribeauvillé on the right of this map. You will recall that Clos Ste Hune, Trimbach’s unparalleled dry Riesling, is within Rosacker. Now I’m not saying that this co-op wine is an exact match for this long-lived classic that sells for well over £150 a bottle. But the Cave de Hunawihr wine is an absolute steal. Wine-Searcher lists it at £18.32 plus tax at Noel Young (a keen Liberty customer...)This is seriously underpriced for a wine of such concentration and integrity. Jancis Robinson MW October 14th 2019.
