Cave de Tain Crozes Hermitage Blanc ‘Les Hauts d’Eole’ Selection Parcellaire
Delicious wine from the increasingly impressive Caves de Tain cooperative. This is a special parcel of 45 year old vines- 70% Marsanne, 30% Roussanne aged in tank and older oak. It’s floral with white peach, a hint of jasmine, spices and some nutty characters.
On the palate it’s rich and nutty again peachy fruit and spice, creamy and textured, long and quite delicious. This will be very food versatile and I think rich poultry dishes, white meats, even a touch of spice would work well. It’s easy to forget about white Rhone, but with wines like this it’s well worth a look!
