Bodegas Ponce 'Clos Lojen'
75cl
Clos Lojen is a red wine the Manchuela region.
This wine is made with grapes of the Bobal variety from different vineyards owned by the winery, over 30 years old and grown in clayey, calcareous soil.
Clos Lojen can be enjoyed now or kept for some years. Wild yeast fermented. It aged for 7 months in French oak barrels. I like it served cellar cool and when the bright crunchy red and black berry fruits are to the fore.
"This is from six parcels of old vine Bobal at 800 m altitude. It has a gorgeous aromatic nose with sweet cherries and strawberries, as well as ginger, pepper and some dried herbs. The palate is spicy and vivid with some brightness, but also a sweet, silky texture to the cherry and berry fruit. It’s smashable, but there’s plenty to hold your interest here. Fresh and digestible, with lovely supple fruit. Very ‘new Spain’ in style. 91/100" Jamie Goode
