Ktima Gerovassiliou is the brainchild of Evangelos Gerovassiliou. He initiated the revival of the family vineyard by planting the nearly extinct Malagousia in 1981. This state of the art winery is now surrounded by 72 hectares of meticulously well cared vineyards on the slopes of Epanomi. Ktima Gerovassiliou guarantees consistent, high quality wines of international acclaim every year and his Malagousia remains the benchmark to this day. In the vineyard, located on the slopes of the Epanomi Hills, quite close to the popular city of Thessaloniki, you will find a well-equipped and sophisticated winery. The location of this winery will help the time taken to transport the grapes, thereby retaining their flavour and aromas. At the estate, the winemaking philosophy is to introduce modern winemaking techniques and traditional methods to produce experimental wines of great taste.
Gerovassiliou have been at the forefront of raising the reputation of Greek wines to where they are now; at their best, the Greek whites can be some of the best around with their incredible purity and focus. The reds are becoming quite brilliant too.
