Founded in 1994 by two wine-worshipping agriculturists Yiannis Paraskevopoulos and Leon Karatsalos, Gaia was at the forefront or raising the quality and image of Greek wine to what it is today. Straddling two distinct sites, the volcanic-soiled white wine paradise Santorini, and the high altitude lime-stone soil of Nemea, Gaia are without doubt one of Greece's top producers. Their Assyrtikos are world-class, and can stand shoulder to shoulder with top quality white Burgundy for elegance, acidity and texture.
