Collection: Henschke 2019 Pre Release (with Museum Releases)
2019 Henschke Single-Vineyard Release
The Henschke family have been making wine at their estate in the Eden Valley since 1868, with fifth-generation winemaker Stephen Henschke taking over the winery in 1979. Together with his viticulturist wife, Prue, they have taken their two single vineyards, ‘Hill of Grace’ and ‘Mount Edelstone’ and transformed them into two of Australia’s most sought-after wines. Through a combination of Stephen’s winemaking and great viticulture from Prue, who has re-introduced native plants in their vineyards to improve biodiversity, the duo has built upon their inheritance and turned this historic producer into one celebrated worldwide.
The Henschke’s have described the2019 vintage as one ‘graced by The Nurturer’, with tumultuous growing conditions expertly weathered by their team, to create a ‘completely seamless release’ (Erin Larkin, Wine Advocate) in which viticulturist Prue’s ‘long-term investment in regenerative viticulture and organic and biodynamic practices paid off handsomely’ (Sarah Ahmed, Decanter).
As such, we are pleased to offer you an exclusive allocation of Henschke’s exceptional 2019 wines alongside a rare museum release of 2008 ‘Hill of Grace’ and 2013‘Mount Edelstone’.
Due to vintage challenges, Stephen and Prue decided to release these two additional complimentary vintages from Henschke’s museum programme.
“While these three vintages, 2019, 2013 and 2008, all produced excellent wines in their own right, they share a common thread – warm, dry seasons that resulted in small but extremely high-quality yields with an outstanding ability to age.” Stephen Henschke, Winemaker
